Little Bloggin Tips – Comments and Clickable Links

I find that comments are the hardest area for bloggers and I think that it takes time for people to comment on you blog.  You really have to be patient and there is no quick way of magically making people want to comment.  I do however have a few tips that you can try;

• Interact with your followers – I think that this is really important, if someone has taken the time to comment you should try your best to reply to them.  I know that this obviously isn’t possible so try not to judge someone if they don’t reply straight away/at all especially if there is chance they might be really busy.  For instance if I have exams coming up then I might not be able to reply straight away but I do always try and reply to comments.

• Ask questions – Remember that there are people at the other side of the screen reading you blog!  I always like to ask a question at the end of a post to find out what you think and what your opinions are.  I think this is one of the easiest ways to engage with your readers and something that you should definitely try.

• Comment on other blogs – This is also a good way of trying to engage with others in the blogging community and some will also return the favour by commenting on yours.  Not everyone will do this so it shouldn’t be expected but if someone comments on my blog and I have time then I will have a look at their blog and try and comment back.

• Leaving clickable links in  comments – I’ve started trying to learn HTML and thought I’d let you know how to leave a clickable link in your comment.

Summer Beauty Blogger Swap!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you’ll know that I was planning to do a Christmas Beauty Blogger swap but this got postponed due to a slight lack of interest but I think that summer maybe a great time to do it as makeup brands have been releasing some new Spring/Summer products!  I’m hoping that this time there will be a lot more people wanting to take part, and I’m going to let the sign up be open for 4 weeks (it will close on the 1st May 2014) to give people plenty of time to decide if they want to take part and for more people to find it.

I would then aim to have everyone paired up by the 8th of May and ask everyone to have their swap packages shipped within two weeks this would be 23rd of May so that hopefully everyone would receive their packages by the beginning of June 🙂

 

There are some rules;

• This is open to bloggers within Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan (if your from somewhere else let me know).
• The amount to be spent on products is £15/€17/$24, (not including postage) please try to spend the full amount.
• I will pair people up by email so you can exchange addresses and what products you like/dislike, would like to try ect.
• If you want to be paired up with someone from a particular country so you can try some different products, let me know in the comments and I will try my best to pair you up.  Just note that I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to pair you up with someone from a country of your choice.
• Please ensure that you send the parcel to the blogger your paired up with and obtain proof of postage just in case.
•  I am only organising this swap so cannot be held accountable for any problems encountered between you and your swap partner.  So please only join if you genuinely intend to take part.

Christmas Beauty Blogger Swap (Prosponed)

 

*Please not due to a lack of of people wanting to take part – I think this might be because everyone is busy with Christmas – so I have decided to postpone it until a later date; probably during spring/summer.  So I’ll let you know when a new one is up and running and apologies for any inconvenience*

I’ve taken part in a beauty blogger swap before and it was great fun 🙂  As Christmas is soon I thought I could organise a Christmas Beauty Blogger Swap! The aim would be to have everyone paired up by the middle of November and parcels sent out at the beginning of December so they would hopefully arrive near Christmas.

This will only go ahead if there is enough interest in it, so if your interested leave a comment with your blog link, country and email.
