Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

18 Jul

The Comfort Zone palette has eight gorgeous neutral shades, which can be used alone or together.  The packaging is nothing amazing but what it lacks in this area it makes up for in the eyeshadows themselves and is also most likely away to keep the costs down. On the back of the packaging there is a nice little guide giving a few ideas as to where to apply the shadows.  I do quite like the fact that they have where to use each shadow stamped onto the shadow itself but this is just a guide and you can definitely experiment with them.

I find that they blend really well and that they all go perfectly with each other meaning you can create so many different looks with it.  Due to the formula being quite soft  I have found that there can sometimes be a little bit of fall out but this isn’t a huge deal for me as it can easily be cleaned away.  The colours are all highly pigmented even without primer as you can see from the swatches.

With primer the shadows tend to last about 5-6 hours before they start to fade and crease a little.  I really love this palette as its great for creating amazing shimmery day-time eyes  but also for creating more dramatic evening looks.  I don’t think the picture does justice as to how gorgeous and shimmery they are.  For some reason the second last shade doesn’t seem to be as pigmented in the picture as it is in real life.  I think this will definitely be coming on holiday with me when I go in August.

What do you think of the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette?  And what other Wet n Wild products do you recommend?

Rimmel to Launch Wonder’full Mascara and Brow Gel

20 Jun

Rimmel London

This summer sees the release of two new products from Rimmel:; Wonder’full Mascara and a series of Brow Gels.  I’m really looking forward to the launch of the Wonder’full Mascara as it contains Argan oil so I can’t wait to see what its like.  It does seem like Argan oil is being added to almost everything at the moment.  According to Rimmel due to the mascara containing the Argan oil it will dry quickly and mean that the lashes will not clump together.  The mascara brush is also flexible in order to ensure that all the lashes are coated from root to tip.

The new Brow Gel will be available in both clear and coloured shades.  This will helps to define brows and keep them in place all day.  The formula is said to be light weight and long lasting; which is great because you don’t want to be constantly trying to fix your brows?  If you know me then you’ll know that I love brow products and barley ever leave the house without doing them so I am looking forward to giving this a go.

There is a little while to weight before they are released as they won’t be on sale until the 6th August.  The  Wonder’full mascara will retail at £7.99 and the Brow Gels will be £3.99.

MUA Cream Blush in Dolly

15 Jun

I’ve started branch out and start trying some different blushes, and when I saw this I though I’d give it a go as I remembered seeing lots of bloggers talking about them when they were first released.  I decided to try out the shade Dolly as it looks quite different from my other blushes.

MUA Blush Dolly

MUA Blush Dolly

The packaging is nothing fancy, just a plastic case with a clear flip top lid; but then at only £2 you can’t really be fussy about packaging can you?  I do like the fact the the lid is clear meaning that you can easily find it if it’s in with other products.  There are six other colours in the range, so although slightly limited there is a chance that there will be one that you like.

MUA Blush Dolly

Dolly is a gorgeous peachy colour.  I find that it looks darker in the packaging than it does when it’s applied.  I’m still relatively new to cream blushes (this is only the second that I’ve tried so far) and compared to the Revlon Cream Blush I find that it feels thinner and is a little easier to blend if your just using your fingers.  I find that it applies really well and can be built up of you want a more stand out look.

MUA Blush Dolly

Swatched and blended

I find that this blush last surprisingly well, especially considering the price, I find that it tends to last around 5 hours before you start to notice it fading.  I think it would last longer and have a more matte finish if you used on of MUA’s powder blushes on top – as they have corresponding powder blushes if you wish to do this.

Overall I really like this and will definitely be buying more from the MUA Cream Blush.  I’d really recommend them and being only £2 from Superdrug of the MUA website you can definitely afford to buy multiple 🙂

I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on these if you’ve tried them and any blusher recommendations you have!  I really don’t have that many, I mean 7 is not a lot right?

If you fancy winning an MUA cream blush in Dolly along with some other prizes; then check out my giveaway  – Obviously it’s not this one; it’s a nice new unopened one 🙂

Sleek Storm Palette

26 May

Uni exams are finally all over, meaning that I’ll be able to blog more often as I won’t have loads of deadlines.  Anway I’d seen this palette a few time on other blogs and instagram and when I saw it after an exam, I decided that it could be like a reward (Any excuse to justify buying more make-up!).

This has quickly become one of my favourite palettes at the moment.  Out of the 12 shades only 3 are matte, so if your not a fan of shimmery eyeshadow then this probably isn’t for you.   The packaging is like all the Sleek i-divine shadow palettes, black casing with 12 eyeshadows and a large mirror.  On the outer box it also has some tips which I think is quite a nice touch.

I think that the colours in this palette a gorgeous and you can definitely create so many different looks.  I love how they all have names, and they’re all after different types of storms.

They are all highly pigmented which is great and a little goes along way.  I find that with primer they last about 6 hours before I start to notice a little creasing, but you can fix this by just blending it a little and it looks fine again.  As with all the Sleek palettes that I’ve tried so far I find that they all blend together beautifully and that there are so many looks that you can create using this palette.   I will definitely be posting some of the looks that I create with this palette soon, so keep a look out 🙂

Here are the 12 shades swatched (without primer);

Overall I love this palette and would definitely recommend it if your looking for a palette to create both day and night looks.  Sleek i-divine palettes can be found on the Sleek website and at Superdrug for £7.99.

Have you tried the Sleek Storm palette?  Did you like it or do you prefer one of the other palettes?

Favourites of 2013

31 Dec

I can’t believe that 2013 is almost over and that this will be my last post this year! This year seems to have gone so fast and I really feel that my blog has grown so much this past year.  I’ve started blogging more consistently since January and can really see how much it’s changed looking back on it now.  I even took part in my first blogging challenge in September which you can see here. My aim for next year is to continue to work even harder on improving my blog and try and make sure I post at least three times a week.  I’m also determined to do more fashion related post in 2014 as I feel like I’ve not done a many as I would have liked.

I haven’t done a favourites post since September as I felt that I was using some of the same products and didn’t want to post the same things as the month before.  So on to the favourites of the year;

Face

face

Sleek Rose Gold – This is definitely a favourite among bloggers.  This blush is such a gorgeous shade and would suit so many shades of skin tone.  It’s perfect for during the summer as it has a lovely gold shimmer running through it.

Collection Illuminating Concealer – I love this concealer as it really helps to conceal and brighten up the eye area.  I also love using this to highlight my under my brows and my cheekbones.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose – This has 5 shades which can be used alone or all swirled together to create a lovely shimmery pink shade.  This can be used on cheeks or can be used as eyeshadows.

Olay BB Cream – This first BB cream that I’ve tried and I love it!  I provides a light coverage and is perfect for days when you don’t feel like wearing a heavy foundation.

Eyes

Eyes

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Pencil in Clinic – This thick and chunky eye pencil is great for sweeping over lids and providing highly pigmented lasting colour.  Clinic is a gorgeous dark green with shimmer particles through it.

Sleek Lagoon Palette – This limited edition palette came out back in march and has lots of shimmery, watery looking shades in it.  This palette can create so many different and colourful looks.

N.Y.C City Curls Mascara – This little mascara makes lashes dark black and helps to lengthen and curl them.  This mascara isn’t overly pricey but it’s definitely one of the best that I own!

Eyeko Skinny Liner – I got this free in a magazine but will be purchasing the full size one when this little one runs out.  It creates thick and thin lines and doesn’t budge throughout the day, what more could you ask for?

Lips

Lips

Topshop Mexican Wave – I bought this on a whim and wasn’t really sure about the bright orange colour when it was in the tube but it became one of my favourites throughout the summer and doesn’t look as orange when it’s applied.

Collection Cream Puff in Cotton Candy – This is surprisingly moisturising even though it’s matte.  It last really well and is a gorgeous bight pink shade, which I think is perfect for spring and summer.

N.Y.C Expert Last Lipstick in Traffic Jam – This was the first red lipstick that I bought and I had no idea that I would love it so much.  It lasts really well and is really pigmented.

Barry M Ultra MoisturisingLip Paint in Vicious Violet – This is on of my favourites at the moment and is possibly the most perfect winter shade.  It moisturises and last really well throughout the day.

So that’s my favourites of 2013!  Let me know what you think of them 🙂  I also hope that you all have a wonderful New Year 🙂

P.s There will be a little giveaway starting in the first week of the New Year to thank you all for being such lovely followers 🙂

Collection Metallic Cream Eyeshadow – Copper Pot

24 Dec

I can’t believe that it’s Christmas Eve already! I’m so excited for tomorrow, I absolutely love Christmas.

Anyway I’ve had this for a while now and I can’t believe that I haven’t reviewed it yet.  I think that this might be what using to create my Christmas eye make-up tomorrow.

CopperPot

CopperPot

This was the first cream eyeshadow that I’d used and I really like it.  Copper pot is a gorgeous golden copper colour.  The eyeshadow has a doe foot applicator making it easy to apply all over the lid.  Copper pot has a thick consistency and is easily blended.  The eyeshadow does dry quite quickly so you need to blend it quite soon after it’s applied.  I find that this lasts all day without creasing; this was the one things that I was concerned about.

CopperPot

CopperPot

I really like using this all over the lid with a matte brown powder eyeshadow in the crease and to contour.

Overall I really like this and will definitely be trying some of the other shades in the range.  These only cost £2.99 and can be purchased from the Collection website, Superdrug and Boots.

Do you use cream eyeshadows or do you prefer powder eyeshadows?  Have you tried any of the Collection Cream Eyeshadows; if you had what did you think of them?
