Style Steal – Emma Stone

2 Aug

This is a new series of post that I’ve decided to create as I love looking through magazines and blog and seeing what different celebrities are wearing.  In this series of post I’ll be looking at different celebrities and how you can get their style at high-street prices.  This first post is on an actress who’s style I love and that is Emma Stone.

Mac £85.00 Warehouse

Jeans £30.99 – Mango

Shoes £22.90 – Forever 21

I chose this look as it shows of a more casual style and I feel that it is a style that anyone could pull off.

Dress £19.99 – Missguided

Clutch £8.00 – ASOS

Shoes £50.00 – River Island

This is an outfit that Emma wore to New York fashion week.  I really like how she wears two bright colours in this outfit and manages to pull it off.  When wearing a bold out fit like this it’s better to limit accessories and keep them neutral.

Top £6.99 – Mango

Skirt £10 – Little Mistress

Clutch £19.99 – Daisy Street

Shoes £19.99 – Schuh

This is an outfit that Emma Stone wore to the Friends With Benefits premiere.  Again it’s another choice with bright bold colours but she really pulled it off and I reckon that others can pull this off too.

I really enjoyed creating this post and there will definitely be more like this soon.  I hop you’ve enjoyed reading so let me know what you think of this post and what do you think about Emma Stones’ style?

Passion for Fashion Competition

12 Sep

So this is the first ever blog competition that I’ve entered, so I’m hoping that it’s okay.  This post is for MoneySuper Market’s Passion For Fashion Competition, where you have to create 5 outfits for under £200.  The categories are party, outdoor, office, first date and casual wear.

Party

I choose a classic little black dress for tha party look, as I feel that you can never go wrong with that.  The dress also has lace detailing which was seen frequently on the A/W 12 catwalks.  The shoes and bag add a nice splash of colour in a sophisticated red.  There is a lot of  bead detailing in the bag, which hasn’t shown too well in the picture.  Altogether this outfit only comes to £83.98, which I feel is a great price! (I didn’t include a jacket in this outfit as most party’s will be in doors during the winter, however if you were wanting to include a jacket it would still workout at less than £200).

Outdoor

For the outdoor outfit my first thought was jeans and jumper in order to keep warm! So I chose a cute cream owl jumper from boohoo.com and skinny jeans from New Look. For the jacket I chose a classic mac style. I love the Blowfish boots from Schuh, which have a lovely furry top that I believe can also be turned up.  For accessories I added a chunky knit scarf, checked bag and umbrella (because it always rain in winter).  I chose this particular umbrella from Marks and Spencers as it has a dog head at the end, similar to the ones seen at Burberry.  Altogether this outfit comes to £198.47.

Office

I’ve never worked in an office before so I wasn’t entirely sure what to choose, so I decided to go for neutral colours.   The dress is from Topshop and has peplum detailing which will continue to be a big trend throughout A/W 12.  I decided on a bag that would be large enough to hold notebooks.  The shoes are from Stylist Pick, and only have a small heel and would therefore should be comfortable enough to wear during a full day at work.  Altogether this outfit costs £160.98.

First date

For my fist date look I decided to go for a girly look, but toughen it up a little.  The dress is in purple which is one of the seasons hottest colours.  The stud detailing on the blazer and boots help toughen up this floaty girly dress, but still make it look pretty.  To accessories I added a gorgeous snake-skin style clutch bag.  I think its can be difficult to choose a first date look and I believe that this outfit manages to look dressy without being over the top.  Altogether this outfit comes to £195.97.

Casual

And last but not least my casual outfit.  For this I decide to pair a T-shirt from moretvicar.co.uk and a tartan skirt from H! by Henry Holland @ Debenhams.  As the weather’s getting cooler I think this is best paired with a pair of thick tights and a warm jacket.  I feel that this outfit creates a casual but stand out look. Altogether this outfit comes to £191.96.

Although I have created 5 outfits, from the clothes and accessories from each category could be mixed together to create new outfits so if all were bought you could have more than 5 outfits for less that £1000!
