MUA Cream Blush in Dolly

15 Jun

I’ve started branch out and start trying some different blushes, and when I saw this I though I’d give it a go as I remembered seeing lots of bloggers talking about them when they were first released.  I decided to try out the shade Dolly as it looks quite different from my other blushes.

The packaging is nothing fancy, just a plastic case with a clear flip top lid; but then at only £2 you can’t really be fussy about packaging can you?  I do like the fact the the lid is clear meaning that you can easily find it if it’s in with other products.  There are six other colours in the range, so although slightly limited there is a chance that there will be one that you like.

Dolly is a gorgeous peachy colour.  I find that it looks darker in the packaging than it does when it’s applied.  I’m still relatively new to cream blushes (this is only the second that I’ve tried so far) and compared to the Revlon Cream Blush I find that it feels thinner and is a little easier to blend if your just using your fingers.  I find that it applies really well and can be built up of you want a more stand out look.

I find that this blush last surprisingly well, especially considering the price, I find that it tends to last around 5 hours before you start to notice it fading.  I think it would last longer and have a more matte finish if you used on of MUA’s powder blushes on top – as they have corresponding powder blushes if you wish to do this.

Overall I really like this and will definitely be buying more from the MUA Cream Blush.  I’d really recommend them and being only £2 from Superdrug of the MUA website you can definitely afford to buy multiple 🙂

I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on these if you’ve tried them and any blusher recommendations you have!  I really don’t have that many, I mean 7 is not a lot right?

January Favourites!

7 Feb

So this is my first ever favourites post 🙂 I love reading these on other peoples’ blogs and thought I’d share with everyone the products that I’d been using most through January.

January favourites

The first is MUA pro-brow pallet, I use this almost everyday as I feel that it helps define eyebrows without making them look too dark.

We also have the Viva La Diva eyeliner in blue lagoon, which I received from Nancy in the beauty blogger swap.

I’ve included my Revlon Kissable Lip Balm Stain which I’ve wore quite a lot recently as it helps moisturize as well as having a nice colour that lasts for hours.

My MUA blush in shade 2 is the first blush I ever bought (a few months ago).  I feel that this gives a nice colour to your cheeks and is easily blended in.

And last but not least is a lip balm from Jewel by India R.  These lip balms are handmade by India-Robyn and have a small crystal on top.  I have the honeyone which is lovely and is great in the cold weather.

Hope you liked my favourites, let me know what you thought 🙂

MUA Pro Brow Kit – Review

17 Jan

I have to admit that I’m relatively new to doing my eyebrows, and this is only the second brow product that I’ve bought.  As the other is a pencil, I don’t have anything else to compare this kit with.

I decided to buy it as I like doing my eyebrows and wanted to try something different.  It has taken me so long to actually find it as whenever I’ve been looking for it, it was always out of stock.

The brow kit has a large mirror on the top of the pallet, and has two brow colours, a highlighter and a wax.  I use the darker brow colour but you could mix both colours to create a custom one.  There is also a set of tweezers and a mini double sided brush.  I haven’t really used the tweezers but they seem good enough for removing the odd hair.  The brushes are also good for on the go but I tend to use a different brush if I’m in the house.

To use the product, you first shape your eyebrows and remove any stray hairs.  You then choose the shade closest to your natural brow colour or mix both together.  After this you apply the highligher to your brow-bone and follow by using the wax to smooth out eyebrows.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Above is a before and after shot, as you can see it enhances the brow while still maintaining a natural look.

I feel that the product goes on smoothly and there is no fallout from the powder.  I find that this product lasts all day without needing  to be touched up.

The MUA Pro Brow Kit can be bought from Superdrug or from the MUA website for £3.50, which I think is an amazing price when compared to some of the other brow kits avaliable.

Mini Haul Post

10 Jan

So these are a few of the things that I bought when I went shopping the other day and thought I’d share with everyone 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I actually bought this not long after Christmas but I wanted to include it in this post as it was one of the items I wore going shopping.  I bought it out H&M on sale for £15, which I feel is an amazing price and I’m really tempted to go back and buy another one n a different colour.

New sports top and trousers as I’ve decided that I will start going to the gym, not sure how long this will actually last but we’ll see.  The top and trousers were about £6/£7 each from a sports shop that was having a massive sale.

I haven’t tried any lipsticks from Topshop and I decided that I would try the Louise Grey one in Mexican Wave.  We also have the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush, which was on offer for £5 and the MUA brow pallet, which I eventually managed to find it always seemed to be out of stock, which was £3.50.  I will be reviewing all of these soon 🙂

I decided to include this as it smells amazing, I got this in B&M for about £1 ( I can’t remember the exact price) but I love it and will definitely buying some more.
