Revlon Photoready Cream Blush – Coral Reef

20 Apr

I decided to give this a go as there was a three for two offer on Revlon products in Boots and I remember seeing lots of blogs talking about it last year.  Revlon photoready cream blushers come in three colours, Pinched, Charmed and Coral Reef.  I decided to go for Coral Reef.

Revlon Cream Blush Coral Reef

This is the first cream blush that I’ve tried and I wasn’t sure about it at first when I picked it up as it looks really bright in the tub.  It doesn’t apply as bright as this but I think if you wanted to make it really stand out  you could just apply more product.  I think that I’ll be using this a lot throughout the summer, it just seems like such a lovely bright summery colour.

To apply it I used my fingers and placed it where I wanted on my cheeks and the blended in with a brush.  Some people said that they liked to apply it using a stippling brush but I don’t have one of them and some people said that applying with fingers gives pretty much the same result.  I definitely think that the way that you apply it is just personal preference and that everyone will have a way that works best for them.

I find that this lasts about 4-5 hours before fading, if you want it to last longer you could perhaps try using a powder on top of it.  I tried with different bases and it worked well on them all apart from BB cream (but I read a post somewhere – I feel bad that I can’t remember where I seen it as I don’t think it was a blogger that I follow) and if you apply a powder over your BB cream and then your cream blush then it should blend in okay.  I also found that this worked fine on just bare skin and that it didn’t settle into any pores.

I really like this and will definitely be trying some more cream blushers, if there is any that you recommend let me know!  Revlon Photoready Cream blush retails at £7.99.

#SBBC 10 Products Under £10

20 Sep

I love shopping and if I had the money I would probably shop everyday.  But I don’t think that you always have to spend a lot of money to get a great product and I feel that there are loads of drugstore cosmetics that could rival their high-end counter parts.  So here are my top ten products for £10 and under;

10 products under £10

MUA Eye Primer – This eye primer works really well considering the price.  If I’m honest I probably won’t look for another eye primer as this one does a great job. Price – £2.50

NYC Mascara – You can see my full review here and the difference it made to my lashes.  The only thing about this product is that it isn’t waterproof but it last all day and really makes a difference to lashes. Price – £2.49

Revlon Kissable Balm Stain – I love this and I’m planning on buying more colours of these.  They keep lips moisturized while providing colour and you don’t have to keep reapplying as after a while they turn into a lip stain, perfect for when you don’t have time to reapply constantly. Price – £7.99

Barry M Nail Paints – I love these! Most of them are £2.99 but you’ll pay a little more of ones that have an effect to them.  The last for around 5 days before you’ll start to notice a little chipping.  There are over 50 colours in the range so you’ll definitely find a colour that you like! Price – from £2.99

Collection Glam Crystals – I’ve used Collection Glam Crystals for years and they are the best glitter eyeliners that I’ve tried.  The last all day and come in a wide range of colours.  Price – £2.99

10 products under £10

Bourjois Delice de Poudre –  This bronzer is mainly matte – it has got a little bit of shimmer in the packaging but you don’t notice this when it applied making it great for contouring.  Not only is it shaped like a chocolate bar it also smells like chocolate.  Price – £6.99

Sleek Rose Gold Blush – Another favourite within the blogging community is this blusher and if you have it you’ll know why.  It’s highly pigmented and lasts all day.  Not only is this blush under £10, it’s a close dupe of Nars Orgasm. Price – £4.99

Loreal Elnett – This is the best hair spray that I’ve ever used and although a little more expensive that some it’s definitely worth it and I don’t think I’d ever use a different hairspray.  I really does brush out of hair and doesn’t leave it feeling sticky like some brands do.  Price – £3.89

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick (Mango Tango) – I’ve not reviewed this yet but it’s such a great little lipstick and I used it quite a few times on holiday.  It last about 4-5 hours and is great for adding a pop of colour to your make-up look.  Price – £2.99

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation – Always a favourite foundation of mine and I know a lot of other blogger have a love for this foundation as well.  It provides good coverage and feels light on the skin.  Price – £8.99

So that’s my top ten products under £10 🙂 Do you use any of the ones on my list or do you have another product you think should be on it?

January Favourites!

7 Feb

So this is my first ever favourites post 🙂 I love reading these on other peoples’ blogs and thought I’d share with everyone the products that I’d been using most through January.

January favourites

The first is MUA pro-brow pallet, I use this almost everyday as I feel that it helps define eyebrows without making them look too dark.

We also have the Viva La Diva eyeliner in blue lagoon, which I received from Nancy in the beauty blogger swap.

I’ve included my Revlon Kissable Lip Balm Stain which I’ve wore quite a lot recently as it helps moisturize as well as having a nice colour that lasts for hours.

My MUA blush in shade 2 is the first blush I ever bought (a few months ago).  I feel that this gives a nice colour to your cheeks and is easily blended in.

And last but not least is a lip balm from Jewel by India R.  These lip balms are handmade by India-Robyn and have a small crystal on top.  I have the honeyone which is lovely and is great in the cold weather.

Hope you liked my favourites, let me know what you thought 🙂

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Crush Review

15 Jan

This was one of my purchase which I posted in the Mini Haul Post. After seeing so many good reviews about them I just had to try them and see if they lived up to the hype.

I have the colour Crush which I would describe as being a berry shade. I don’t usually comment on the packaging of products but I really like the way this product is packaged, they look very similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks.

They are described as being, “a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lip stain” (Revlon).  I was a little unsure at first as most lip stains tend to be quite drying.  However  this product is really moisturising and looks more like a lip balm when first applied. This wears away and your lips are left with a lovely stain (which isn’t drying) but you can top it up throughout the day if you feel you would like more moisture on your lips.  I found that it took a couple of hours to fade into a stain which I was really happy with.  One of the best things I found with this product was that the colour didn’t transfer.

I did find that this product could highlight any dry areas that you have on your lips.  This picture was taken in natural light without flash when it was just applied.

The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain comes in 12 colours and is avaliable in Boots and Superdurg for £7.99.  They are on offer just now in both shops and are £5.00 each.

Mini Haul Post

10 Jan

So these are a few of the things that I bought when I went shopping the other day and thought I’d share with everyone 🙂

I actually bought this not long after Christmas but I wanted to include it in this post as it was one of the items I wore going shopping.  I bought it out H&M on sale for £15, which I feel is an amazing price and I’m really tempted to go back and buy another one n a different colour.

New sports top and trousers as I’ve decided that I will start going to the gym, not sure how long this will actually last but we’ll see.  The top and trousers were about £6/£7 each from a sports shop that was having a massive sale.

I haven’t tried any lipsticks from Topshop and I decided that I would try the Louise Grey one in Mexican Wave.  We also have the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush, which was on offer for £5 and the MUA brow pallet, which I eventually managed to find it always seemed to be out of stock, which was £3.50.  I will be reviewing all of these soon 🙂

I decided to include this as it smells amazing, I got this in B&M for about £1 ( I can’t remember the exact price) but I love it and will definitely buying some more.
