Kate Moss For Topshop 2014

5 Jan

Kate Moss will be releasing a new line Spring/Summer collection with Topshop in April 2014.  It’s been over three years since Kate Moss last collaborated with Topshop and has previously had several sell out collaborations with the store.  This collection will be available globally in store and  through the Topshops website as well.

Kate Moss has been quoted saying “ I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop. I am very excited to create a new collection that bears my name. Now more than ever with London being at the forefront of fashion as it feels like I’m back home working with Topshop”.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what this collection will be like.  As it’s going to be a Spring/Summer collection I think that there will most likely be; floral, pastels, some sheer pieces and possibly a dropped waist dress?

If you want to keep up to date with the collections release then you can sign up to the Topshop Style Notes List on their website here.

Are you looking forward to the release of the new Kate Moss collection?  I’ll keep you updated as soon as I know more about the collection 🙂

Summer Essentials (3) – Lips

7 Jun

This is the third in my series of Summer Essential posts if you have missed out on the others you can catch up on them here.

This post is focusing on lips.  To me summer is a great time for wearing a really bright lipstick but I also find that my lips can dry out a little in the summer so moisturizing lips products are also essential.  So here are my Summer Essentials or lips;

Summer Essentials Lips

  • Collection Lock and Hold Lip Gloss in Break Dance – This colour looks like a bright coral in the tube however is much paler on lips.  I feel that it helps to add a little colour so is great if you don’t want too bold a lip colour.  I find that it lasts about 4 hours before needing to be reapplied.  You can see my full review of it here.
  • Topshop Mexican Wave – This was limited edition and I have only just stared wearing it.  I really wish that I had bought more it’s such an amazing coral/red colour.  If you can find people selling it online then I would definitely buy it or if you know of a similar colour then feel free to share.  I think this is great lipstick for a bold summer look.  You can see my full review here.
  • Rimmel Kate Moss Shade 5 – This is one of my most used lipstick as you can probably see from the picture.  this is a lovely pink shade which I feel would suit most skin tones.  For me this is definitely a must have shade.
  • Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint- This lipstick is green, but changes to pink due to the alkali level of your lips.  As everyone has different levels of alkali the shade changes from person to person.  For me it changes to a bright pink shade.  I love this lipstick as it will suit everyone as it changes to a colour specifically for them.  A quirky must have lipstick.
  • Jewel by India R – I bought this from a blogger who creates her own lip balms.  I have the honey flavoured one which is awesome.  The lip balms are great just to moisturize you lips or if your not wanting to wear any lipstick.

Here are some swatches to give an idea of the colours, I didn’t swatch the lip blam as it’s clear and the Barry M lip paint isn’t the colour it goes on my lips (alkali level must be different)

Louise Gray Topshop Lipstick Mexican Wave Review

3 Jun

I’ve been meaning to review this for a while now, as I bought it not long after Christmas.  Anyway Topshop teamed up with designer Louise Gray to create a limited edition make-up range, which included this lipstick called Mexican Wave.

Mexican Wave

Mexican Wave

I’ll admit that I wasn’t really sure about the colour at first but I really love it.  I think that this lipstick would be perfect during the summer as it’s a gorgeous bight orange/coral colour.  It has a cute pink and gold packaging.  This is the first Topshop lipstick that I’ve used and I really liked it.  I found that being a bright colour Mexican Wave does have a tendncy to cling to any dry areas.  The lipstick is quite creamy and applies easily.  I found that the lipstick lasted about 4-5 hours before needing to be reapplied and had to be reapplied after eating/drinking.

Mexican Wave

Overall  was really impressed with this lipstick and it has definitely made me want to try more Topshop lipsticks.  The only thing I dislike is that it’s no longer available so if any one knows of a similar colour let me know 🙂

Have you tried either of the Louise Gray lipsticks or other Topshop lipsticks let me know what you think and if you recommend any particular Topshop lipstick shades 🙂

Mini Haul Post

10 Jan

So these are a few of the things that I bought when I went shopping the other day and thought I’d share with everyone 🙂

I actually bought this not long after Christmas but I wanted to include it in this post as it was one of the items I wore going shopping.  I bought it out H&M on sale for £15, which I feel is an amazing price and I’m really tempted to go back and buy another one n a different colour.

New sports top and trousers as I’ve decided that I will start going to the gym, not sure how long this will actually last but we’ll see.  The top and trousers were about £6/£7 each from a sports shop that was having a massive sale.

I haven’t tried any lipsticks from Topshop and I decided that I would try the Louise Grey one in Mexican Wave.  We also have the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush, which was on offer for £5 and the MUA brow pallet, which I eventually managed to find it always seemed to be out of stock, which was £3.50.  I will be reviewing all of these soon 🙂

I decided to include this as it smells amazing, I got this in B&M for about £1 ( I can’t remember the exact price) but I love it and will definitely buying some more.

Passion for Fashion Competition

12 Sep

So this is the first ever blog competition that I’ve entered, so I’m hoping that it’s okay.  This post is for MoneySuper Market’s Passion For Fashion Competition, where you have to create 5 outfits for under £200.  The categories are party, outdoor, office, first date and casual wear.

I choose a classic little black dress for tha party look, as I feel that you can never go wrong with that.  The dress also has lace detailing which was seen frequently on the A/W 12 catwalks.  The shoes and bag add a nice splash of colour in a sophisticated red.  There is a lot of  bead detailing in the bag, which hasn’t shown too well in the picture.  Altogether this outfit only comes to £83.98, which I feel is a great price! (I didn’t include a jacket in this outfit as most party’s will be in doors during the winter, however if you were wanting to include a jacket it would still workout at less than £200).

For the outdoor outfit my first thought was jeans and jumper in order to keep warm! So I chose a cute cream owl jumper from boohoo.com and skinny jeans from New Look. For the jacket I chose a classic mac style. I love the Blowfish boots from Schuh, which have a lovely furry top that I believe can also be turned up.  For accessories I added a chunky knit scarf, checked bag and umbrella (because it always rain in winter).  I chose this particular umbrella from Marks and Spencers as it has a dog head at the end, similar to the ones seen at Burberry.  Altogether this outfit comes to £198.47.

I’ve never worked in an office before so I wasn’t entirely sure what to choose, so I decided to go for neutral colours.   The dress is from Topshop and has peplum detailing which will continue to be a big trend throughout A/W 12.  I decided on a bag that would be large enough to hold notebooks.  The shoes are from Stylist Pick, and only have a small heel and would therefore should be comfortable enough to wear during a full day at work.  Altogether this outfit costs £160.98.

First date

For my fist date look I decided to go for a girly look, but toughen it up a little.  The dress is in purple which is one of the seasons hottest colours.  The stud detailing on the blazer and boots help toughen up this floaty girly dress, but still make it look pretty.  To accessories I added a gorgeous snake-skin style clutch bag.  I think its can be difficult to choose a first date look and I believe that this outfit manages to look dressy without being over the top.  Altogether this outfit comes to £195.97.

And last but not least my casual outfit.  For this I decide to pair a T-shirt from moretvicar.co.uk and a tartan skirt from H! by Henry Holland @ Debenhams.  As the weather’s getting cooler I think this is best paired with a pair of thick tights and a warm jacket.  I feel that this outfit creates a casual but stand out look. Altogether this outfit comes to £191.96.

Although I have created 5 outfits, from the clothes and accessories from each category could be mixed together to create new outfits so if all were bought you could have more than 5 outfits for less that £1000!

A/W 2012 Purple

9 Aug

This is the first post of in a series where I will be writing about Autumn/Winter 2012 trends.  This post is about the colour which was seen all over the catwalks, purple.

Everything from bags, shoes, dress and coats were purple.  Below are a few of me favourites…

Alberta Ferretti dress

Erdem boots

Alberta Ferretti coat

And here are some purple picks from the high street,

Purple Court Shoes Newlook £19.99

Ariya Skirt by Goldie at Topshop £45.00

Lipsy dress at Next £70.00

I think there will be more purple items coming in to shops soon, but so far these are my top three.  I love the Alberta Ferretti coat so I think I’ll be looking for something similar on the high street as I think a purple coat will be lovely stand out piece and brighen up winter outfits.

Colourful Skinny Jeans

12 Jun

I’m really loving the new colourful skinny jean trend, as its nice to have some variety other than blue, black and grey.  The weather here in Scotland isn’t great at the moments, so  it’s nice to be able to wear jeans that look summery without getting too cold 🙂 Here is a small collection of coloured skinny jeans that I like,

Coral skinny jean with zip detailing, New Look £22.99

Pink skinny jeans with aztec detailing, New Look £24.99

Bright blue skinny jeans, H&M £24.99

Mint skinny jeans, Topshop £40.00
