L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

10 May

If you’ve read my blog previously then you’ll know that I loved the Melvita micellar water, but I decided that I wanted to try some others as this was the only one that I’d tried.  I bought this L’Oreal micellar solution last month as with skin care products I like to use them for a while before reviewing them.  If your new to micellar waters they are a solution made of water with tiny particles of oil suspended in it which quickly absorbs make-up but is gentle on your skin.

L'Oreal Micellar Water

L’Oreal claims that this is a 3 in 1 products that; 1) Dissolves make-up, 2) Unclogs pores and removes impurities and 3) Tones and soothes skin.  It is also suitable for sensitive skin.

L'Oreal Micellar Water

It comes in a 200ml bottle which has a square shape which I quite like.  The lid feel secure and I haven’t had any problems with it leaking if I’ve been taking it with me somewhere.  It’s really easy to use, just pore a little onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face.  I really like it because it’s super quick and easy to take your make-up off at night.

I find that it removes make-up really well, it does take a couple of swipes to remove waterproof mascara, but I don’t really see that as a negative to be honest.  I think that it unclogs pore/removes impurities a little but not as much as the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser.  As for the last claim I do find that it leaves my skin feeling toned.

L'Oreal Micellar Water

Overall I really like and would definitely buy it again but I think I might try some other brands of micellar waters too; just so I can see what other brands are like.  This retails at about £4.99 in Boots and Superdrug.

Have you tried the L’Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution?  If you have what did you think of it?  Or do you have any other micellar waters that you recommend that I try?

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser

11 Apr

Before this I had never tried hot cloth cleansers, to be honest I was never overly interested in skincare products until I turned 21 last month and I know it’s not really old, but I started to think it was time to really look for some good skincare products.  I saw this in Superdrug when I was buying a micellar water and decided to pick it up as well.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser

All of Superdrug’s own brand products are not tested on animals and this one is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser claims to remove makeup and impurities while gently exfoliating and even out skin tone.  It does this as it contains kiwi extracts, mulberry extracts and cocoa butter.  It comes in a box and also contains a muslin cloth which I think is amazing for the  price.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser

I wasn’t sure if was going to like this as it comes out really thick and creamy and I thought it might leave my skin oily, but it doesn’t!  To use this you just rub into the skin on your face and neck, rinse the muslin cloth under hot water – wrining out the excess and then simply wipe off.  I find that this really helps to remove any makeup and leaves skin feeling super clean and super soft.  I find that when I use this I don’t need to use a moisturiser, however if you have dry skin then you might wish to use a moisturiser.  I also feel that this has really helped improve the appearance of my skin.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser

It’s recommended that you use it with other products in their Naturally Radiant range and considering how much I love this I think I will definitely be trying the rest of the range which includes a cream, face mask, radiance balm, night cream, a polish scrub and a 2 in 1 moisturiser and serum.

Overall I would really recommend this product, I don’t have any other hot cloth cleansers to compare it to but I really don’t think you’ll find one to rival this especially for the price.  It can be purchased from Superdrug in store and online for £5.99 and is currently half price at £2.98.  All the other Naturally Radiant products are half price too.

Have you tried hot cloth cleansers, what did you think of them?  Have you tried any of the products in Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant range?

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream Review

23 Mar

Life has kind of taken over recently meaning that I’ve had less time to blog, and although I promised in my last post to write another sooner than this,  found that it just seemed rushed. And I’d much rather publish a post which I feel that you would appreciate as I know I’m not a fan of reading post which seem to be quickly flung together in the need to let people know that your still writing your blog.  I’m really hoping that this time away from the blogging world (I haven’t been reading any blogs lately) will mean that hopefully I’ll have some new ideas for post too.  Anyway on with what I really want to talk to you about; Clarins Daily Energizer Cream.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream

I’d been given a sample of this at one of the counters and loved it so much that I went back and bought the full sized tub.  It feels a little bit thick and lovely and creamy.   I think that this would be best for dry/combination skin, and if you have oily skin you maybe better suited to the cream-gel formula. It comes in a really nice glass tub, which seems quite sturdy, but I haven’t dropped it yet so I’m not sure how it copes with this.  Like all the others in the daily energizers range the packaging is orange which I feel is a nice colour and helps you feel a little more awake in the morning.

The Daily Enegrizers range is specially developed for skin in its 20’s.  It aims to make skin appear bright and healthy while minimizing minor imperfections.  Other products in the range include, a cleansing gel, wake-up booster and the cream-gel moisturizer.

I really love this product and have been using it with the cleansing gel and I feel like it has improved the appearance of my skin.  I find that the moisturizer keeps my skin feeling nice and soft and helps to hydrate any part which are a little dry.

I definitely recommend this and it can be bought for £21.00 at any Clarins counter or from their website.

Have you tried any of the Clarins Daily Energizers range?  Let me know what you thought of it 🙂

Melvita Fresh Micellar Water*

15 Dec

Micellar water seem to be everywhere at the moment and I’m probably a little late to the bandwagon but oh well.  A micellar water has tiny oil molecules suspended in the water meaning that they are gentle on skin but are able to quickly absorb any dirt and make-up.

Melvita Micellar Water

Melvita Micellar Water

This was one of the items that I got when I went to the Fabb event in Glasgow and I’ve been using it a lot since, hence why the bottle isn’t completely full in the picture.  I forgot to take pictures of it when it was full and it definitely has a lot less in it now!  The Melvita Micellar water aims to remove makeup, cleanse skin as well as tone; I find that it does all three.  I have to admit that I love products that do more than just one thing.  It has a slight rose scent as it uses petals from wild roses that are grown at high altitudes.  The fragrance isn’t overly strong and I find that the scent doesn’t last on skin however if your not a fan of fragranced products the this might not be for you.  The Melvita Micellar water is also organic and not tested on animals.

I find that the best way to use this is to pour a little onto a cotton wool pad and then wipe over skin.  I find that to remove mascara it’s best to hold the cotton wool pad over the eye for a few seconds before wiping the mascara off.    I find that this micellar water helps to remove even waterproof mascara without being harsh on skin and full of chemicals.

Overall I really like this micellar water and would consider purchasing it again although I think I’ll probably try some other to see what I think of them too.  This cost £15.50 for 200ml bottle, the one featured here is a sample size and is 35lm.

Crystal Clear Skincare – 10 Minute Glow*

3 Nov

This is one of the products that I received at the Fabb events from the lovely people at Crystal Clear Skincare.  I also received the Lift Away The Years; which is one of their most famed products, however I felt that I was a little too young of anti aging so I gave it too my mum whose been using it and can really see the results.

Anyway 10 Minute Glow is a peel off face mask which works in just 10 minutes.  The mask aims to minimise pore, deeply cleanse the skin and hydrate skin to make your skin glow.  The face mask is clear and has a really think consitency which I feel makes it easy to apply.  You apply a thin layer of this mask all over your face, or you can apply it on specific areas you want to target.  After being left on for ten minutes, it begins to look shiny and can be easily peeled off; depending on how you’ve applied it will depend on how much of the mask can be peeled on at the one time.  As its shiny when dry is easy to see any bits you’ve missed when peeling it off.

I’ve been using this mask once a week for the past four weeks, and I can tell you I love it.  I’m not normally a fan of peel off masks but this one just comes of so easily.  I find that even thought my pores aren’t too large to begin with it definitely makes them look smaller.  This also has some anti aging ingredients in it which makes skin look brighter and feel firmer.

Overall I really love this product and will definitely be purchasing it again once this one runs out.  I would say that the 10 Minute Glow is one of my favourite skincare products at the moment.

The 10 Minute Glow Face Mask can be purchased from the  Crystal Clear Skincare website for £24.99.

SugarStrip Ease Sugar Wax Review*

20 May

The lovely people at Simply Natural were kind enough to send me a tub of their Sugar StripEase wax.  The company is based in Ireland and focus on creating natural cosmetic and hair care products.  Their products are also cruelty free and the company do not use parabens in their products; more information can be found on the Simply Natural about page.

I think that the technique of sugaring could be the next “new” thing. I put new in quotation marks as it isn’t really a new thing, it’s like BB Creams and threading they were popular elsewhere first and are starting to become popular here.  Why do I think that it could be the next you thing, it’s easy and less painful than wax.

Sugar StripEase comes in a box which contains the tub of sugar based wax, 15 reusable fabric strips, three different sized spatulas and an instruction sheet.  As you can see from the box the wax is vegan friendly and is approved by the BAUV (British Association for the Abolition of Vivisection).  I loved the packaging of the product, it look so cute and girly.

You have to heat this product by placing the tub in the microwave for 60 seconds (it varies, I put mine in for 40) until it’s the consistency of runny honey.  It’s recommended that you test the product on the back of your hand to ensure it’s not too hot.

Once you’ve decided that it’s the correct temperature, you use the spatula to spread a thin layer on the area you want to wax (in the direction of hair growth), then rub fabric strip down and pull back.  I found that Sugar StripEase was less painful than the cold wax strips that I usually use, it’s not completely pain free since your pulling the hair out but I’d definitely recommend this to people who find cold wax strips too painful.  I also found that Sugar StipEase didn’t leave my legs looking red or with as many red dots as I get from regular wax.

As the product is made of sugar there is no need for the greasy after wax wipes that you usually get, instead any remaining product can simply be wiped of with water.  For me the wax stayed warm for at least 40 minutes which gives you plenty of time to use it.

I found that the wax removed most of the hairs, I think that the hairs that were left were a little too short but I’ll know this for next time that I use it.  Overall I feel that this product is awesome and I will definitely be purchasing this again.

Sugar StripEase can be purchased from the Simply Natural Online Store for €9.95 (about £8.40).  There are also other products in the Sugar StripEase range including a Talc to use before waxing and a Soothing Mist to use afterwards.

Have you tried Sugar StripEase or sugaring, let me know what you thought 🙂
