Rimmel to Launch Wonder’full Mascara and Brow Gel

20 Jun

Rimmel London

This summer sees the release of two new products from Rimmel:; Wonder’full Mascara and a series of Brow Gels.  I’m really looking forward to the launch of the Wonder’full Mascara as it contains Argan oil so I can’t wait to see what its like.  It does seem like Argan oil is being added to almost everything at the moment.  According to Rimmel due to the mascara containing the Argan oil it will dry quickly and mean that the lashes will not clump together.  The mascara brush is also flexible in order to ensure that all the lashes are coated from root to tip.

The new Brow Gel will be available in both clear and coloured shades.  This will helps to define brows and keep them in place all day.  The formula is said to be light weight and long lasting; which is great because you don’t want to be constantly trying to fix your brows?  If you know me then you’ll know that I love brow products and barley ever leave the house without doing them so I am looking forward to giving this a go.

There is a little while to weight before they are released as they won’t be on sale until the 6th August.  The  Wonder’full mascara will retail at £7.99 and the Brow Gels will be £3.99.

Marks And Spencer Limited Collection Butterfly Perfume

15 May

This post is a little different to my usual as it’s the first perfume review that I’ve done.  In the past I refrained from doing them simply because I find that things can smell a little different to different people.  But I decided that I needed to share this one with everyone 🙂

I don’t usually look in Marks and Spencer for perfume products just because I have a tendency to stick to the ones that I know I like, but I had heard that this was really nice so decided to give it a go.

Butterfly is part of the Limited Collection at Marks and Spencer; and this EDT came in three sizes, 10ml (£3.50), 25ml (£6.00) and 90ml (£12.00).  The 90ml bottle has a beautiful butterfly top which may remind you slightly of another high-end perfume?  I chose the 25ml bottle as I wanted to make sure I liked it and its a great size for putting in your bag.

The fragrance has a scent of apples, cucumber, grapefruit, magnolia, rose and violets as well as having a base aromas of musk and amber.  I’m sure I’m not alone in not being able to smell every ingredient in perfumes; so to me it smells fruity and florally.  I definitely think that you can smell the apple in this and maybe the violets.  I find that the scent last around 5 hours before it may need to be sprayed again so you can smell it.  I think this is quite a good length of time and the size of the bottle is great for taking with you.  It is also BUAV approved meaning that it’s not tested on animals.

This perfume has a nice light fragrance which I think would be great for the up coming summer days.  I have seen a number of people compare it to different perfumes and  to me it smell a bit like Daisy by Marc Jacobs.  I don’t think that it smells exactly like it but I do thing they are similar.  I think it might smell closer to Daisy Eau So Fresh – I can’t say for certain as I don’t own it myself but I have smelled it a few times.

I will definitely be back in Marks and Spencer soon to buy the bigger bottle and just keeping the smaller one in my bag.  I think this is perfect if you want a lovely smelling EDT without having a huge price tag.

Have you tried any Marks and Spencer perfumes/EDT?  What did you think?

#SBBC 10 Products Under £10

20 Sep

I love shopping and if I had the money I would probably shop everyday.  But I don’t think that you always have to spend a lot of money to get a great product and I feel that there are loads of drugstore cosmetics that could rival their high-end counter parts.  So here are my top ten products for £10 and under;

10 products under £10

MUA Eye Primer – This eye primer works really well considering the price.  If I’m honest I probably won’t look for another eye primer as this one does a great job. Price – £2.50

NYC Mascara – You can see my full review here and the difference it made to my lashes.  The only thing about this product is that it isn’t waterproof but it last all day and really makes a difference to lashes. Price – £2.49

Revlon Kissable Balm Stain – I love this and I’m planning on buying more colours of these.  They keep lips moisturized while providing colour and you don’t have to keep reapplying as after a while they turn into a lip stain, perfect for when you don’t have time to reapply constantly. Price – £7.99

Barry M Nail Paints – I love these! Most of them are £2.99 but you’ll pay a little more of ones that have an effect to them.  The last for around 5 days before you’ll start to notice a little chipping.  There are over 50 colours in the range so you’ll definitely find a colour that you like! Price – from £2.99

Collection Glam Crystals – I’ve used Collection Glam Crystals for years and they are the best glitter eyeliners that I’ve tried.  The last all day and come in a wide range of colours.  Price – £2.99

10 products under £10

Bourjois Delice de Poudre –  This bronzer is mainly matte – it has got a little bit of shimmer in the packaging but you don’t notice this when it applied making it great for contouring.  Not only is it shaped like a chocolate bar it also smells like chocolate.  Price – £6.99

Sleek Rose Gold Blush – Another favourite within the blogging community is this blusher and if you have it you’ll know why.  It’s highly pigmented and lasts all day.  Not only is this blush under £10, it’s a close dupe of Nars Orgasm. Price – £4.99

Loreal Elnett – This is the best hair spray that I’ve ever used and although a little more expensive that some it’s definitely worth it and I don’t think I’d ever use a different hairspray.  I really does brush out of hair and doesn’t leave it feeling sticky like some brands do.  Price – £3.89

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick (Mango Tango) – I’ve not reviewed this yet but it’s such a great little lipstick and I used it quite a few times on holiday.  It last about 4-5 hours and is great for adding a pop of colour to your make-up look.  Price – £2.99

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation – Always a favourite foundation of mine and I know a lot of other blogger have a love for this foundation as well.  It provides good coverage and feels light on the skin.  Price – £8.99

So that’s my top ten products under £10 🙂 Do you use any of the ones on my list or do you have another product you think should be on it?

#SBBC My Make-up Storage

19 Sep

I’ll admit that my storage isn’t the fanciest of storage but I really like it and feel that everything is easy to find as it’s separated into different boxes.  I know a lot of bloggers really like the acrylic make up storage but I don’t really see the appeal of them myself.

Storage

The first box stores face products; foundation, blush ect;

Storage

The second stores lip products;

Storage

And finally the eye products box

As you can probably tell from the photos, eye products are definitely my favourite! Anyway that’s how I store my make-up, how do you like to store yours?

#SBBC Favourite Eyeshadow Palette

2 Sep

So this is the second post in the September Beauty Blog Challenge.  This is my favourite eyeshadow palette at the moment, which is quite surprising as I usually like to wear brighter eyeshadows/eyeliners.

The Sleek Au Naturel palette is an amazing neutral palette which has 12 eyeshadows 8 of them are matte and the other 4 are shimmer shades. Most of them are well pigmanted (there are a few that are quite pale) but all show up really well over a primer and last all day.  You can read my full review of the Sleek Au Naturel palette here.

I find that this palette is great for creating looks for both day and night.  Since there are twelve colours in the palette I feel like this means that there are numerous combinations you can try as all the colours go very well together. Below is one of my usual quick daytime looks that using this palette;

Sleek Au Naturel Palette

I only did a close up of this look as I like my eyeliner quite thick and you couldn’t really see much of the eyeshadow from a distance.  For this I used the peach colour Toast and the brown shade third from the left at the bottom of the palette Bark. I blended these together over primer and added a little of the white shade Nougat to the inner corner.  I finished of my look by adding some liquid eyeliner along the top of the lash line and some mascara on the lashes.

What’s your favourite palette? And have you tried any of the Sleek Makeup palettes?

Make Up Look Using Sleek Lagoon Palette

18 Jul

I really like this palette but feel I haven’t really used it as much as I thought I would. You can see my full review of the Sleek Lagoon palette here. So I decided to create a look which I think has a slightly tropical feel and I thought it would look quite nice during the summer.

Sleek Lagoon Palette

For this look I used the following shades from the palette;

Emerald

Pink Jewel

Sand Dollar

Oyster (this is the  shimmery white)

Sleek Lagoon Palette

  • Apply a primer all over lid.  I used MUA eyeprimer.
  • Next apply Sand Dollar over two thirds of the eye starting from the inner corner.
  • Apply Pink Jewel to the rest of the lid and blend with Sand Dollar so there is on harsh lines between them.
  • Add Emerald to the upper and lower lash line and bring out into a wing at the outer corner of the eye. It easiest to do this with a thin eyeliner brush.
  • Finally add Oyster to the inner corners of eyes.  You could also use this to highlight the brow bone (I haven’t done this in this look).

Let me know what you think of this look and what looks you like creating with the Sleek Lagoon palette 🙂

Valentine’s Day Makeup Using Sleek Au Naturel Palette

11 Feb

I thought that this would be a great look to wear on Valentine’s Day however it could be worn any other time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

In this look I’m mainly going to focus on the eyes as I feel that’s the main part, but I’ll list the other products at the end.  The eyeshadows used in this look are from the Sleek Au Naturel palette.

  1. Taupe

If using a primer apply first (I haven’t used one in this look).  Apply Taupe all over the lid.
